- Old Business
- Lot status: losing lot across the street.
- We are hoping to lease the South lot from RWC instead. Unknown cost, guess is $1000 more than what we are already paying - this would replace the current lot.
- Inconvenient electricity, possibly use solar
- LTR for Govt.: Only for RWC, not other cities. Possibly will change to Learn to Paddle for the Peninsula cities for PortFest Oct 1.
- Security:
- Recommending to lock launches
- Plan to put up private property signage
- CBDA committee: Pat, Cynthia, Chris Jasper and Joyce Lee to meet
- Nominating Committee: No reply to requests for other members so far. Check if anybody on the Intermediate crew could find a good candidate.
- Facebook/Google+ spec for SJSU: Put on hold until next semester
- Oct 15 running event near BIAC
- New Business:
- San Mateo Property Tax: BIAC can file for a "Organizational Clearance Certificate" (OCC). If BIAC gets the OCC, it can file for a "Claim for Welfare Exemption" to NOT pay the San Mateo Property Tax
- Storage lot fees: Only NCOCA paying, and Mike Martinez’ personal trailers
- To take inventory, if/when we move.
- RAFRC visit: Pat to check with teams regarding use of boats. If teams approve use of boats, RAF will be asked to cover additional insurance fees.
- Creek Fest: Sat. Sept 10th.- Vicky Bialas to spearhead
- Slip rental: Agreed that minimum fee may be dropped to $150/month for this specific boat ($7/foot, without 25’ minimum)
- Corkscrew: Dec 11th- Chuck to run again
- Volunteerism- Possible plan to increase fees and offer rebate to those who volunteer.
- To revisit work group.
- Financial Report:
- Checking balance: $23,000
- MM balance is $133,043. Plus there is the $2,000 loaned to paddlers to purchase their boat, which will be paid back to BIAC after the paddlers' fundraiser
- Savings: $118
- Committee Reports:
- ROC: go over certification of blind boats
- RET: Kaschper to return in the next few weeks, Glenn working on Kingfisher
- Membership: New list posted with end date. Create new way to welcome new members
- Facilities: Ramp- Chuck to check with Luis and others regarding ramp design/cost, reporting back to Board by 8/26
- Social: Menlo Masters Swimmers- Aug 28th- 45 people currently signed up, more are expected
- Communications: no report
- Future Foundation: no report
- Regatta: Approve City Fees; BIAC Annual Fall Regatta is Nov. 6th
- Launch: Mike Martinez's proposal to purchase two new launch motors, and selling current motors (while they are still operable), was approved, with cost estimate around $3500. $4200 per engine, (minus what we sell.)
- Safety: Chuck to call about CPR class and obtain launch kits by 8/26.
